| | Dear Marinaldo.Jesus, | | As someone who has an interest in providing technology to researchers so they can make the world a healthier place, you might be interested in joining a World Community Grid project seeking to find childhood cancer treatments.
Participating in this exciting and important endeavor couldn't come at a more appropriate time, as Wednesday, February 15, 2012 is International Childhood Cancer Day. International Childhood Cancer Day was established in 2002, by the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organizations, to raise public awareness throughout the world about childhood cancer. Sadly, each year 175,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, of which an estimated 90,000 will die from the disease.
World Community Grid is running a project designed to help find a treatment for childhood cancer. It is called Help Fight Childhood Cancer.
The principal investigator for the Help Fight Childhood Cancer project is Dr. Akira Nakagawara from the Chiba Cancer Center Research Institute in Chiba, Japan. Dr. Nakagawara is also the President of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology - Asia, one of the driving forces behind childhood cancer awareness.
We encourage you tell your friends about this important day, and ask them to join World Community Grid to participate in the Help Fight Childhood Cancer project.
